Birgit A. Almgren






Following a career practicing civil and criminal litigation, real estate, contracts, estates, and juvenile protection in Michigan, Illinois, and Colorado, Ms. Almgren has begun to practice immigration law, which synthesizes all of her strengths developed across diverse fields.  Ms. Almgren is licensed in the United States Supreme Court; the State of Michigan; the Western District of Michigan; the State of Colorado; the State of Illinois and is registered within the Executive Office for Immigration Review.  She holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in International Relations and Comparative Politics from Northern Illinois University and a J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law.   She is currently on the Board of the Potter Creek Homeowner’s Association, a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Colorado Bar Association, the Michigan Bar Association, and is a published poet.
